Lack of boundary markers: Our loader operator at the Norwood Pit - "Perry placed
green and white "T" posts along the permit boundary. Perry has worked at the pit for
many years and knows the area well. He placed the posts in line with an existing fence
post (at the west end) and an existing survey point (on the east end). These two points
are know to be on the county line which is also part of the permit boundary A photo was
taken showing the posts. I'll take a transit and check the straight line boundary.
3. Contaminated soil and inadequate secondary containment: United Companies placed
the fuel tank in a secondary containment box large enough to hold more than the capacity
of the tank. The soil was placed on a plastic sheet to air out. From time to time we
intend to stir the soil. Once all the soil has dried out we will run it through the crusher
and make it part of our roadbase pile to be used on a future project. Two photos were
taken, one of the containment and one of the soil.
4. Documentation authorizing use of off site road: Enclosed is a letter from the
landowners giving permission to use the off site road.
Item 1 from your report will be addressed this month as a technical revision.
Sincerely,
l~ rv~~ U`J, ~1L.esvv
Brent W.
