IH. COMMENTS -COMPLIANCE
Below are comments on the inspection. The comments include discussion of observations made during the
inspection. Comments also describe any enforcement actions taken during the inspection and the facts or evidence
supporting the enforcement action.
This was a complete inspection of the Hamilton Mine for the month of October, 1999.
RECORDS: Records were inspected and found to be satisfactory. See page 5 of this report for further details
ROADS: The roads continue to be in satisfactory condition and do not require any maintenance.
HYDROLOGIC BALANCE: All ditches and culverts are clear and capable of functioning as designed. Pond A
was dry at the time of the inspection and Pond B had approximately 1.5 feet of standing water in it but did not
discharge.
RECLAMATION SUCCESS: The site's vegetation is the best it has ever been since it was reclaimed. Indian
Ricegrass is the most predominant grass species at the site, along with some needle and thread. Woody plants include
mostly fourwing saltbrush, broom snakeweed, and some sagebrush. The site is very stable as far as erosion is
concerned. Even though the reclamation is doing very well, when compared [o the reference areas, it is doubtful [hat
the reclamation would meet the reclamation standards.
