III. COMMENTS -COMPLIANCE
P~ y~ ~~ c- ~o _oo~
Below are comments on fhe inspection. The comments include discussion of observations
made during the Inspection. Comments also describe any enforcement actions taken during
the inspection and the facts or evidence supporting the enforcement action.
This was a partial inspection of the Hayden Gulch Mine conducted by Jim Stark of
CDMG. The mine has gone through a Phase I and Phase II Bond Release on all but
approximately nine acres. The weather was cold and the ground was covered with
several inches of snow.
Mine ID signs were in place at the entrance to both of the areas of the mine (shrub
parcel 003 and parcels HG-08, E and the 1997 slide area).
Shrub parcel HG-OS was covered with snow. There did not appear to be any
erosional problems with this site. Pond HG-08 contained water and was discharging
(the pond, however, is no longer a part of the permit).
Shrub parcel E and the 1997 slide area were both inaccessible at the time of the
inspection due to the snow. These areas will (probably) be inaccessible until the
snow melts in the spring.
Shrub parcel 003 was covered with snow at the time of the inspection. The area
appeared to be stable and there were no erosional problems noted at the time of
the inspection. Pond 003 appeared to be dry at the time of the inspection.
