III, COMMENTS - COMPLIANCE
Below are comments on the inspection. The comments include discussion of
observations made during the inspection. Comments also describe any
enforcement actions taken during the inspection and the facts or evidence
supporting the enforcement action.
This was a complete inspection conducted by Tom Kaldenbach of the Colorado
Division of Minerals and Geology. No one else was present.
AVAILABILITY OF RECORDS
With the exception of pond inspection reports for the first and second quarters
of 2002, all required records were available at the Routt County Courthouse.
The pond reports should be sent to the courthouse. The records checklist is
attached.
SIGNS AND MnRRFRS
Mine i.d. signs and disturbed area markers were properly displayed.
HYDROLOGIC BALANCE
The pond was dry.
REVEGETATION
Vegetative cover appeared good in the facilities yard area despite a dry
summer. The fence was in good shape along the county road.
SLIDES AND DAMAGE
No new rock falls were apparent on the former portal bench.
SAES
The fill slope in the former office area appeared stable. It was well-
vegetated and the gabion-basket lined ditch was in good shape.
