This inspection was performed as part of the Division of Reclamation, Mining, and Safety's four-year <br />monitoring program. Present at the inspection were Kate Pickford, DBMS, and Ron Barbosa, Southwest <br />Readi-mix, Inc. Weather at the time of the inspection was clear, calm, and approximately 75 degrees. <br />2. A sign is posted at the entrance to the site and the boundaries are easily identifiable in the field. Most <br />of this pit has been mined out. The disturbance at this site consists of a mined out pit with mostly vertical <br />highwalls, although a portion of the north slope has been graded to final grade. There are topsoil <br />stockpiles located along the south boundary of the permit. <br />3. A hot mix plant is located on the site. Mr. Barbosa stated that the plant belongs to the county. Two <br />large tanks affiliated with the plant are locafed onsife. One tank is labeled "desiel" and fhe second <br />tank is not labeled. Mr. Barbosa indicated that the second tank contains tar for use with asphalt <br />production. Neither of the tanks has measures installed to contain the contents or the tanks in the event <br />of a leak or spill (See problem 1, page 3 of this report). <br />4. Relative to this inspection, a new bond amount will be calculated for this site.
