Recent operations have occurred in this pit, as evidenced by truck and heavy equipment
tracks. There has been substantial removal from stockpiles. 01d stockpiles have been redisturb~•
and some crushing may have occurred, since a recently crushed stockpile is in the center of
the pit.
3. The pit now has a IocY.ed gate.
9, Some limited excavation has occurred in the old northwest pit wall,
5. Wate r has gathered in the pit bottom and remains long enough to support some willow
growth. [dater is, however, very shallow (under 3" deep).
6. This operation is not permitted.
1. The hfined Land Reclamation Board should consider an immediate Possible Violation and Cease
and Desist Order at its next meeting (Sept. 22-23, 1982) for Andersen Construction Co.
2. Andersen Construction Co, should complete the permittiny process and submit the
$2,500.00 financial warranty as soon as possible.
3. Final reclamation plans should reduce all slopes to 2:I or, preferable, 3:1. The water
in the bottom of the pit should be considered in final reclamation. All olcl stock. piles should
be cleaned up in reclamation. A1I slopes should be planted in final reclamation.
4. The operator should clarify his plans (if any) concerning expansion of the existing pit.
Inspected by: Ma- o r>~s ~ou~
sr. Reclan~tion Specialist
MSL/mmt
