The operator, Logan County, has applied for an amendment to add 22.44 acres to the <br />currently permitted 9.96 acres, for a total of 30.4 acres. <br />The current permit area is being mined, the southeast portion of the pit has been sloped to a 3H to 1 V grade. The current <br />working face is on the northeast portion of the pit. II was noted that the topsoil above the highwall had not been salvaged in <br />advance of the mining, this should be done in the future.
