Photographs were taken
of the permitted area and surrounding areas. The site disturbance was
evaluated and determined to be included within the marked permit area.
All topsoil is stockpiled in a berm to the south and east of the mining and
stockpiling area. Material stockpiles are stacked in the middle of the pit.
Active mining is taking place and proceeding to the west. This pit is well
planned and it appears efficient in that topsoil stockpiles are placed where
they will be needed later for reclamation and the pit is very orderly.
A stockpile of material is being left for the landowner in the northwest
section of the permit area.
A stockpile of pit run material has been pushed up onto unsalvaged topsoil in
the southwestern portion of the pit. The operator should take care to
carefully scrape off the pit run material and be sure to salvage the topsoil
given the shortage of good topsoil for reclamation in general at this gravel
pit.
No problems were noted during this inspection.
I & E Contact Address cc:
^ CE ^ HW
NAME Mr. Marvin Moore ^ BL ^ HMWMD (CH)
OPERATOR Moffat County ^ FS ^ SE
STREET P.O.
