I • (Page 2) •
MINE ID f OR PROSPECTING ID f M-77-348
INSPECTION DATE 6 10 94 INSPECTOFI'S INITIALS GSC
OBSERVATIONS
This pre-operational inspection was conducted in response to the operatcr's request for
additional bonding for 95 acres. The operator's representative, Mr. P~sul Thomsen, was
present during the inspection. The 95 acres which the operator wishes to bond are located
roughly between 112,700 north and 117,300 north on the operator's grid system. This is the
E-Band ridge, a grass and brush covered ridge of relatively low relief. 7.'he vegetation ie
characterized by Mtn. Mahogany and grasses.
The topsoil varies in thickness from a few inches on the ridge top to 2 to 3 feet on the
lower eastern elope of the ridge. Mr. Thomsen said that an average of 2 to 5 feet of topsoil
would be removed and stockpiled from this area.
There are no water bodies or permanent man-made structures within 200 feet. and the area to
the west and south has been previously mined. The land to the north and east is used for
grazing. The Division will review the bond calculations supplied by the operator in the next
30 days and notify the operator of the new bond amount.
We also inspected the northern end of the gauarry which is now being reclaimed. The area
consists of 40 acres of the "A" band pit. Mr. Thomsen stated that three to four feet of
topsoil has been replaced and was reseeded last week (week of May 29, 1994). The grading on
this area looks good and blends in well with the surrounding topography.
I & E Contact Address cc: Carl Mount, DMG
^ CE
NAME Paul E.
