Debris deposited as a result of a short road excavation east of the office/shop area
is showing signs of tilling/gullying. This should be stabilized by grading, seeding.
2. Waste/fines piles in tracts A and Al also show accelerated erosion of the type
described in 1/1 above. This problem poses a sedimentation problem to the drainage basin
and sediment-containment structures should be constructed.
3. Because of the nature of rock cleavage (along bedding planes) and [he easterly dip
of the limestone units, benches have a tendency to be formed with sloping floors (down dip,
away from the headwall). Upon reclamation, this configuration may lead to some failures in
the bench floors due [o shearing, and weathering (sheeting), and reduce the ability to
revegetate these areas. Consideration should be given to constructing the final bench
floors whith more appropriate type steps; and have a stability analysis done to determine
the proper configuration.
4. The operator could also rubblize select areas between benches to provide for wildlife
access.
5. The proposed road realignment will improve traffic and dust relative to the new
subdivision, and make some practical use of waste for use as fill from Tract Al.
6. It is recognized that some of these issues and others have been addressed in the
recent amendment submitted.
7. A stabilized topsoil stockpile exists on the north side of the quarry, just outside
the working area.
8, Mining is proceeding per the plan submitted.
Inspected by: ` i~~.~~-~_ -. j,~~.,1;~:
}tecl.amation Specialist
ys
