III. COMMENTS -COMPLIANCE <br />Below are comments on the inspection. The comments include discussion of observations made during <br />the rnspection. Comments also describe any enforcement actions taken during the inspection and the <br />facts or evidence supporting the enforcement action. <br />This was a complete Inspection of the King Coal Mine for the month of June, 2003. The site is operating <br />at its normal rate. <br />RECORDS: Records were inspected and found to be in satisfactory condition. See page 5 of this report <br />for further details. <br />HYDROLOGIC BALANCE: The West pond had about 2' of water ~n it and the East pond was dry. <br />Nether pond was :aischargu,g. All culverts and ditches were mspected and lound to be clear and able to <br />roocrly hinct~on. <br />GENERAL MINE COMPLIANCE: The site is producing coal at a near maximum rate and all <br />environmental issues are bung complied with. No problems were noted at the time of this inspection. <br />EXCESS SPOILS AND DEVELOPMENT WASTE: The waste pile is stable and all water is being diverted <br />off the :op The small area of the waste pile that has been reclaimed seems to be doing ratherwell despite <br />the draught condition that has pirrsiSted (Or SORIe time. <br />
