Dan Sokal and Ed Lewis of the Bureau of Land Management (BLM), <br />and Mr. Jerome Gamba of Eagle-Gypsum, Ltd. were present at the <br />inspection. The site of proposed mining was inspected and several <br />concerns that BLM and Mined Land Reclamation Division (MLRD) had were <br />discussed. Among the topics mentioned, the most important were: <br />a. Sediment and erosion control along the access road <br />b. Replacement and preservation of the Pinyon-Juniper <br />habitat on top of the gypsum knob to be mined <br />c. A seed mixture which would be acceptable to the BLM <br />d. The angle that the progressing mine highwall would be <br />when the depth of material to be removed exceeded <br />100-150 feet. <br />
