(Page 2)
MINE ID # OR PROSPECTING ID #: _ M-iQRS-ma
INSPECTION DATE: Aggucr », ~nm INSPECTOR'S INITIALS: Ai A
OBSERVATIONS
This inspection was conducted at the request of Mr. Rudy Torres, who is considering taking over the pit from Bent County.
Mr. Torres accompanied this inspector on the inspection, and indicated that he had contacted Bent County to indicate that
he was meeting this inspector at the pit.
The pit was not active at the time of inspection, and apparently has not been active for several years. Two large stockpiles
remain in the pit, in addition to the topsoil stockpiles remaining on the west side of the pit.
A sign is posted at the entrance to the pit. The sign is semi legible, and will need replaced in the near future. Boundary
markers are in evidence, and are sufficient. No fuel or oil was stored at the pit at the time of inspection.
The west and north sides of the pit were mined to highwalls ranging from 0 to 12', back to 6' high on the west side, and
ranging from 6'to 15'to 0 on the north side. Approximately 50%of the north highwall will have to be backfilled, the remaining
50% can be pushed over to grade the slope to 3:1. The area that needs backfilled is the area from 10' to 15' high.
The northern portion of the pit has a tamarisk infestation that needs attention soon, as tamarisk is listed in the State of
Colorado as a noxious weed. This is listed as a problem on the first and third sheet of this inspection and a plan for mitigation
of the infestation must be received by the Division of Minerals and Geology (DMG) by November 1, 2002.
The bond was calculated for Mr. Torres to assist with his decision to take over the property, and amounts to approximately
$ 27,750.00.
I & E Contact Address
NAME: Mr. Frank Bryant
OPERATOR: Bent County
STREET: P() enx 350
CITY/STATE/ZIP: I as Animas, CO 81054
cc: ^ Mr. Harry Posey
^ CE
^ BL
^ FS
^ HW
^ HMWMD (CH)
^ SE
^ WQCD (CH)
Mr. Rudy Torres
1750 County Rd.
