III. COMMENTS -COMPLIANCE ~~ ~~ ~~(r~ <br />Below are comments on the inspection. The comments include discussion of observations <br />made during the inspection. Comments also describe any enforcement actions taken during <br />the inspection and the facts or evidence supporting the enforcement action. <br />This was a complete inspection of the Hayden Gulch Mine conducted by Jim Stark of <br />CDMG. The mine site is reclaimed. The weather was cold and overcast and the <br />ground was covered with several inches of snow. <br />Availability of Records: All of the required records were available at the Montgomery <br />Watson Harza office in Steamboat Springs. See the records checklist at the end of <br />this report for more detailed information. <br />Signs and Markers: All of the permit boundary and mine ID signs were posted. The <br />fences around the three shrub parcels were in good condition and marked. <br />Hydrologic Balance: -All of the ponds are permitted as permanent. Pond 003 <br />contained a small amount of water but was not discharging. The pond was covered <br />with snow but appeared to be well vegetated and appeared to be in good <br />condition. <br />- Pond HG-8 also contained water. This pond was not discharging either. The pond <br />was also covered with snow but appeared to be well vegetated and appeared to <br />be in good condition. <br />Fish and Wildlife: No wildlife was observed at the mine site at the time of the <br />inspection. <br />Reveaetation/Reclamation Success: Only shrub parcels HG-08 and 003 (the parcels <br />adjacent to the county road) were accessible at the time of the inspection. Both <br />were covered with snow but they appeared to be stable and in good condition. <br />Slides and Damage: The 1994 slide area was not accessible at the time of the <br />inspection. With it now being winter, this area will not be accessible until late spring. <br />
