<br />III. COMMENTS - COMPLIANCE <br />Below are comments on the inspection. The comments include discussion of observations made <br />during the inspection. Comments also describe any enforcement actions taken during the <br />inspection and the facts or evidence supporting the enforcement action. <br />This was a partial inspection conducted by Tom Kaldenbach of the Colorado Division of Minerals <br />and Geology. No one else was present. The ground was wet. <br />HYDROLOGIC BALANCE <br />As part of a culvert clean-out effort, Proles 6 to 8 feet deep have been excavated at both ends <br />of the westernmost culvert in the permit area. This culvert is beneath the county road. The <br />excavated soil apparently was removed from the site. These two excavations should be filled <br />immediately to ensure positive drainage on both sides of the county road. The holes would sump <br />water and could possibly cause ground instability next to the road. Sediment should be cleaned <br />from the culvert to ensure continued functioning of the culvert. <br />Page 3 <br />
