..
111. COMMENTS -COMPLIANCE
Below are comments on the inspection. The comments include discussion of observations made
during the inspection. Comments also describe any enforcement actions taken during the
inspection and the facts or evidence supporting the enforcement action.
This was a complete inspection of the La Plata Coal Mine for the month of November, 1998. The
site remains much as it has for the past few months. Snow is starting to accumulate at the site
and will probably remain for the winter.
ROADS: The reclaimed roads have good stands of vegetation on them and should be fairly stable
throughout the winter.
HYDROLOGIC BALANCE: Vegetative growth is very goad at.this site therefore erosion is at a
minimum. No signs of any new erosion were noted at this time.
GENERAL MINE COMPLIANCE: The overall condition of the mine is very stable.
RECLAMATION SUCCESS: Overall condition of the site is outstanding. It recommended that in
late spring or early summer, Bank personnel attend a complete inspection to determine the status
of the mine and reclamation bond.
