(Page 2) <br />r~ <br />L <br />MINE ID # OR PROSPECTING ID #_ <br />INSPECTION DATE_ INSPECTOR'S INITIALS SSS <br />OBSERVATIONS <br />This was a routine partial inspection conducted as part of the Division's monitoring program for permitted mine sites in <br />Colorado. <br />The site was inactive during the inspection, but it appeared that mining of the northwest corner of the site had taken place <br />since the last inspection. The mining has not increased the size of the pit, but lowered the pit floor on that corner by <br />approximately 4 feet. There was no evidence that any water had been standing in the low areas of the pit floor. Only small <br />stockpiles of material remained in the pit. <br />The mine identification sign and boundary markers were in place and in compliance. <br />Some vegetation is becoming established on the pit slopes that have not been affected in the pas[ few years. The majority <br />of the vegetation is weedy species, though some beneficial and desirable species are becoming established. Most pit <br />slopes appear to be graded to a 3:1 or less steep slope, except in the northwest corner where the most recent excavation <br />has left some small highwalls. <br />Responses to this inspection report should be directed to Steve Shuey at the Division's Durango Field Office.
