Cattany
Division Director
Natural Resource Trustee
The Division received your letter dated May 31, 2005 regazding the topsoil shortage at the Camilletti Pit,
Permit No. M-1987-164.
Connell Resources proposes to strip 24" of topsoil from the undisturbed portion of the site
(approximately 8.6 acres), and replace 6" over the entire permit area. Soil tests results and
recommendations propose amending the soil with 401bs/acre nitrogen and 301bs/acre phosphorus.
However, the letter also states that Connell Resources will use 3001bs/acre using 18-46-0 ratio (which
converts to 54 Ibs/acre N and 1381bs/acre Phosphorus). Connell Resources will need to clarify this issue.
Connell Resources is now required to remove the upper 24" of soil from the 8.6 acres and amend the soil
with nitrogen and phosphorus. These two items will need to be incorporated into the Camilletti Pit
permit. Please submit the May 31, 2005 letter and attachments as a technical revision to the permit.
Please be reminded that to file a technical revision, the operator must submit two copies and an
application fee in the amount of $188.00.
Please file the technical revision with the Division on or before July 1, 2005. If you have any questions,
please do not hesitate to call.
S~inc~erely~,
Cam"`.'
