~~

(Page 21

MINE ID # OR PROSPECTING ID # M-90-025
INSPECTION DATE 3-22-99 INSPECTOR'S INITIALS SSS
OBSERVATIONS
This was a partial inspection, conducted at the operator's request, to evaluate how the mining operation is laid out. The
operator would like some of the assumptions, made in determining the reclamation cost estimate, to be revised according
to how the operation actually functions.
The pit currently has only a small portion that has an open highwall face. The pit currently progresses in approximately
7.5 acre increments las determined by map after observing on-site conditionsl• When the 7.5 acre pit is mined out, the
overburden from the next 7.5 acres to be mined is transported into the mined out pit. The replaced overburden depth
approximates the thickness of the gravel layer. No overburden is stockpiled behind the pit.
Topsoil is windrowed on both sides of the advancing pit and disturbed area. Total disturbance is approximately 25 acres
The product stockpiles at the back end of the operation will need to be removed, and that area lof at least 7.5 acres)
topsoiled and revegetated prior to disturbance of the next 7.5 acre pit area.
The timing of the worst case reclamation cost is when the pit is fully excavated and overburden, in advance of the pit, must
be moved to fill the pit. Topsoil must then be replaced over the entire 25 acre area, and the entire 25 acres must be
revegetated.
The recently revised reclamation cost estimate will be recalculated to take into account the actual mining and reclamation
process taking place at this site. The estimate will include more accurate volume and distance figures. The revised
reclamation estimate will be forwarded to Haycamp Gravel in the near future.
Responses to this inspection report should be sent to:
Division of Minerals and Geology, 484 Turner Drive, Building F, Suite 101, Durango, Colorado 81301, Attn: Steve Shuey.
Steve Shuey can also be contacted at phone no. 970-247-5062.
I & E Contact Address cc: Tom Gillis, DMG
NAME
OPERATOR
STREET
CITY/STATE2IP
Billv Goode
Havcamo Gravel
7452 C.R. 24.3
Cortez.
