• (Page 21 •
MINE ID # OR PROSPECTING ID # M-1984-039
INSPECTION DATE 8-10-2000 INSPECTOR'S INITIALS SSS
OBSERVATIONS
This was a routine complete inspection conducted as part of the Division's on-going monitoring program for permitted mine
sites in Colorado.
The site remains stable with very little disturbance. Current disturbance includes an initial cut face with a waste rock pile
topsoil stockpile Ivegetatedl, access road and a parking area. Current disturbance is estimated at .25 acres.
The mine identification sign and boundary markers are in compliance, but a few markers have been removed and should
be replaced. The operator may wish to use a smaller, less conspicuous marker that tourists might be less likely to remove.
The operator has rebuilt the Picayune Creek crossing by installing a culvert and armoring the inlet.
The 1999 annual report indicated that 50 tons of ore was removed from the initial cut stockpile.
The reclamation cost estimate for this site has not been updated since 1995. The estimate will be recalculated by the
Division in the next few weeks. If an increase in the financial warranty is required, the operator will be notified and will
have sixty days from the date of that notice to submit the additional warranty.
Responses to this inspection report should be directed to Steve Shuey at the Division's Durango Field Office. The address
is; Division of Minerals and Geology, 701 Camino del Rio, Room 125, Durango, Colorado 81301, phone no. 970-247-5062.
I & E Contact Address cc: Tom Gillis, DMG
^ CE
NAME Wilbur Benham ^ BL
OPERATOR Same ^ FS
STREET 10195 South Houghton Road. #107 ^ HW
CITY/STATE/ZIP Tucson.
