Box 3609
Grand Junction, CO 81502
Deaz Mr. Johnson:
Pursuant to our 9/10102 inspection of the "Cory Gravel Pit", it is my opinion that Russian
knapweed is not a weed of concern associated with your future rehabilitation efforts.
Plants believed to be Russian knapweed by the State Inspectors, are in reality "Purple
Aster", a close relative with similar appearing chazacteristics.
As discussed, there is a substantial infestation of "Canada thistle", surrounding the
western perimeter of the pit, which will require some chemical control efforts.
I am enclosing a couple of copies of local weed brochures that you may find useful
Please give me a call at 240-0223 if you have questions.
Since/el~,
A.
