Box 3609 <br />Grand Junction, CO 81502 <br />Deaz Mr. Johnson: <br />Pursuant to our 9/10102 inspection of the "Cory Gravel Pit", it is my opinion that Russian <br />knapweed is not a weed of concern associated with your future rehabilitation efforts. <br />Plants believed to be Russian knapweed by the State Inspectors, are in reality "Purple <br />Aster", a close relative with similar appearing chazacteristics. <br />As discussed, there is a substantial infestation of "Canada thistle", surrounding the <br />western perimeter of the pit, which will require some chemical control efforts. <br />I am enclosing a couple of copies of local weed brochures that you may find useful <br />Please give me a call at 240-0223 if you have questions. <br />Since/el~, <br />A.
