Page 2)
MINE ID # OR PROSPECTING ID #: ~~-~ 9~Rn~s;
INSPECTION DATE: 1 L-1R-nS INSPECTOR=S INITIALS: J_D2
OBSERVATIONS
This was a monitoring inspection for the purpose of monitoring Lincoln County's compliance with the permit,
regulations and the Act. Don Blake accompanied the inspector .
The permit area is adequately marked and the identifying sign is properly posted.
The pit is located on a fairly steep north facing slope. The west, south and east sides of the pit have been
mined to or graded to a satisfactory reclamation slope. However, the se slopes do not appear to have ever
been re-vegetated and they are eroding. The sediment from the erosion is accumulating on the pit floor and
not leaving the permit area. There is a significant erosion gully on the south pit slope that if it is not controlled
could eventually head cut beyond the permit boundary. Lincoln County should take steps to control the
erosion at this site in order to prevent the erosion from becoming a problem requiring enforceable corrective
actions. As far as the gully erosion on the south side is concerned, diverting overland flow to the area may be
required to control it. Erosion of the pit slopes can be controlled by vegetating them, in accordance with the
permit reclamation plan. The erosion at this permit area is not considered to be a problem, at this time, since
the erosion is not on reclaimed areas and the erosion is not threatening to affect areas outside the permit
boundary, at this time.
Only a small portion of the permit area has been mined.
The mine was inspected by the Division, on June 20, 2001. There is no record of the inspector finding problems
at that time and there are no problems at this time.
I & E Contact Address
NAME: Don Blake
OPERATOR: Lincoln County
STREET: P n Rt~x 39
CITY/STATE/ZIP: Hugn CC) RnA91
Cc: Harry Posey- DMG via e-mail
