OBSERVATIONS
The following observations were made during a routine inspection of this 110 acre 112 pit.
1. Boundaries were marked with fencing around the perimeter and stake marks near the highway;
a sign with the permit number in view was posted near the entrance.
2. The perimeter of this pit has been excavated and reclaimed, with sloping, topsoiling, and
revegetation almost completed. An irrigation ditch runs around the main area still to be
excavated. The site will become a water resource area after excavation ends. Trees, grasses,
and shrubs have been planted along the perimeter strip, with the grass still needing one to
two years to grow in.
3 . The main stockpile and processing area occupies approximately 15 acres at the southern
boundary, near the entrance; enough topsoil remains to reclaim this part of the site after
operations have ceased.
The bond will be checked for adequacy. If there any changes to be made since the bond was
calculated two years ago, the Operator will be contacted within two weeks.
No problems noted at this time.
