III. COMMENTS -COMPLIANCE <br />Below are comments on the inspection. The comments include discussion of observations made <br />during the inspection. Comments also describe any enforcement actions taken during the inspection <br />and the facts or evidence supporting the enforcement action. <br />This partial inspection of the Hamilton Coal Mine was conducted by DRMS staff from the Durango <br />Field Office, 701 Camino del Rio, Room 125, Durango, CO 51301, phone (970) 247-5469. The <br />operator has commenced final reclamation. No activities were observed; no individuals were <br />contacted during this inspection. <br />Snow cover of approximately 6 inches existed throughout the area. The mine access roads had not <br />been snow plowed, which limited access to some locations. <br />Signs and markers were posted. Revegetated areas appeared stable. Vegetative cover appeared <br />well established and diverse. The two sediment ponds were not inspected. <br />No problems or violations were observed during the inspection <br />
