III. COMMENTS -COMPLIANCE ~ ~ ~_ ff / ~y~
P~~/1 y~q~~0~ _a l~~'°
Below are comments on the inspection. The comments include discussion of observations
made during the inspection. Comments also describe any enforcement actions taken during
the inspection and the facts or evidence supporting the enforcement action.
This was a partial inspection of the Munger Canyon Mine conducted by Jim Stark of
CDMG. The Loma Loadout was not inspected. The mine is currently in temporary
cessation. The mine portals have been sealed and initial reclamation and
revegetation has been completed. The weather was warm and overcast and the
ground was dry.
Signs and Markers: The mine ID sign was in place and had all of the necessary
information.
Roads: The access/haul road to the portal area was stable and well maintained.
There were no erosional problems observed on the road.
Hydrologic Balance: -The remaining collection and roadside ditches appeared to
be well maintained and functioning as designed. No erosional problems were noted
in any of the ditches.
-The silt fence for SAE-1 appeared to be installed and functioning as designed.
Backfilling and Grading: The backfilled portal area appeared to be stable at the
time of the inspection. There were no erosional problems observed at the time of the
inspection.
Revegetation/Reclamation Success: The reseeded portions of the portal area and
mine bench appear to be stable. The vegetative cover appears to be good enough
to help stabilize the area and control erosion.
