III. COMMENTS -COMPLIANCE <br />Below are comments on the inspection. The comments include discussion of observations made during the <br />inspection. Comments also describe any enforcement actions taken during the inspection and the facts or <br />evidence supporting the enforcement action. <br />This was an aerial inspection of the Hamilton Mine conducted by Harry Ranney of the DMG. <br />Aerial photographs were taken on July 14, 2006. Weather conditions were clear and sunny at <br />the time of the flight. Mike Boulay of the DMG reviewed the aerial photographs. <br />Five photos were taken during the flyover. No problems were noted in any of the aerial <br />photographs. <br />Roads <br />Roads leading to Mine Area 1 and to the sedimentation ponds were visible in the photographs. <br />Roads were dry and appeared to be in good condition. <br />H,, d~ologic Balance <br />Sedimentation Ponds A and B were viewed. Both ponds are entirely dry. Pond embankments <br />appeaz stable and no problems were noted at either of the sediment pond locations. <br />Reclamation Success <br />The site appeazs to be very dry and brown. Some shrubs are visible. Overall vegetation appeazs <br />to be stressed due to the appazent drought conditions at the mine site. The site does appeaz stable <br />with no significant erosion features noted in the photographs. <br />
