III. COMMENTS -COMPLIANCE
Below are comments on the inspection. The comments include discussion of observations made
during the inspection. Comments also describe any enforcement actions taken during the
inspection and the facts or evidence supporting the enforcement action.
This was a complete inspection of the Hamilton Mine for the month of May, 1998.
RECORDS: Records were inspected and found to be satisfactory. See page 5 of this report for
further details.
ROADS: The roads are in satisfactory condition and do not require any maintenance.
HYDROLOGIC BALANCE: All ditches and culverts are clear and capable of functioning as
designed. Pond B was dry as normal, pond A was also dry at this time.
RECLAMATION SUCCESS: The site's reclamation vegetation has started to come up, however, i1
will be quite some time before any noticable difference is observed in the vegetaion. It was
brought to the attention of the Division that there was a possibility that sewage/sludge could be
hauled to the site and spread on as a source of fertilizer/organic material compound. The Division
has no objections to this plan and from reports of other mines that have used this technique, it
appears that this should be very benificial to the vegetation success
