(Page 2) MINE ID # OR PROSPECTING ID #: M-1985-~i~ INSPECTION DATE: January PY ~nn3 INSPECTORS INITIALS: r;a5 OBSERVATIONS This was an acreage reduction request inspection, done in conjunction with an inspection of the Carter Lake Enterprises, Inc. Masonville Division Quarry. Carter Lake Enterprises has submitted a conversion application to expand the Masonville Division Quarry from its current 7.75 acre ilOc permit to a 62.1 acre 112c permit. As part of this conversion Carter Lake Enterprises has proposed to incorporate 23.7 acres of Permit M-1985-212 into the new area of the Masonville Division Quarry. Upon approval of the conversion application these 23.7 acres will be deleted from M-1985-212 and incorporated into M-1985-099. The area requested for release can be identified from existing roads, topographic features, the current permit map and the map provided with the conversion application. The inspection consisted of a general tour of the existing permitted site. At the time of this inspection the site was being actively mined. There is a Permit ID sign posted at the mine, but it is in poor condition and difficult to read. It is also located in an area with limited visibility. The operator should prepare a new sign and post it in a location where it is more visible -See page 3 of this report. The inspector did not identify any on-site problems which would preclude the approval of the operator's request for an acreage reduction upon approval of the Masonville Division Conversion application..
