(Page 2)
MINE ID # OR PROSPECTING ID #: M-1977-~d~
INSPECTION DATE: July 11,..2005 INSPECTOR=S INITIALS: ~~
OBSERVATIONS
1. This inspection responded to the operator's request for apre-release inspection to discuss and evaluate
bonding issues and the remaining reclamation in anticipation of a possible sale of the property.
2. The entire site has been graded to Rnal slopes. Remaining are some fairly deep furrow-like water-
retentionfeatures that are expected to Batten out wffh time, and that will require no further grading. The
existing benches and highwalls will remain.
3. Though parts of the sffe are ready for complete reclamation release, a few, particularly in the northem
part of the major pit area, need more time for better infllling, and some high-gypsum exposure, low
topsoil areas need more topsoil and will probably require replanting.
4. Releasable parts of the site host diverse native grasses, trees and shrubs, effher planted or volunteering
from local natural seeding, and are have nil weeds. Most of the successful pinon 1L juniper plantings are
taking on bulk. Grass coverage is generally excellent in areas that are releasable. Native shrubs are
tilling in parts of the disturbed area.
5. A few of the steeply sloping areas adjacent to the main pit and some of the areas with southerly aspect
host sparser vegetation, but the plants here appear structurally stable and appear generally well
esfabltshed, though they are sparser in density than vegetation in the flatter areas and upon slopes with
more northerly aspect.
6. The BLM tract on the northern edge of the disturbance is especially well vegetated.
7. The shop building and road infrastructure are permanent, and are no longer bonded. A large water tank
remains on site along with black pipe leading to it.
8. Approximately 70% (+/- 15%) of the area appears to be ready for release from all reclamation liability,
provided that the vegetation has gone without irrigation for a significant number of years.
9. It was decided that Georgia-Pacific would apply for a reclamation release for all or part of the property,
and that the DMG would then re-Inspect and map a more definite percentage of the acreage that is
ready for release from reclamation liability.
I & E Contact Address
NAME: Bob Shaiarv
OPERATOR: Georgia-Pacific Gvosum Corporation
STREET: 14n1 Pier n Street
CITY/STATE/ZIP: I nng Ranrh_ ('A 9nR09
cc: t CE
I' BL
r FS
r HW
T HMWMD (CH)
r SE
1" WQCD (CH)
I' OTHER
