III. COMMENTS COMPLIANCE <br />Below are comments on the inspection. The comments include discussion of observations made dunng <br />the inspection Comments also describe any enforcement actions taken during the inspection and the <br />facts or evidence supporting the enforcement action. <br />Thls was an aerial inspection of the New Horizon Mine for the month of November, 2001. The purpose <br />of this inspection is to conduct normal operations and environmental compliance. <br />ROADS: All roads appear to be in excellent condition. The detour is functioning as designed. <br />HYDROLOGIC BALANCE: M)ne 1: Ponds 1 and 6 had water m them but only 1 appeared to be <br />dischargmg as normal, all other ponds were dry. All ditches and culverts seem to be functioning as <br />designed. Mine 2' Ponds 7 & 8 have water in them and 7 may be discharging. <br />G: B & G was in progress as is normal. No problems were notes <br />TOPSOIL: Topsoil is being temporarily stockpiled for later re-sp2ading by truck and shovel <br />GENERAL.MIN_ E _C_ OMPLIA_ NCE The mine is creating a small temporary SAE poor to the construction I <br />of pond 9 (as evident rn the picture immediately below), <br />
