<br />III. COMMENTS -COMPLIANCE <br />Below are comments on the inspection. The comments include discussion of observations made <br />during the inspection. Comments also describe any enforcement actions taken during the <br />inspection and the facts or evidence supporting the enforcement action. <br />This was an aerial inspection of the Trinidad Basin Mine for the month of November, 1997. The <br />permit was revoked and the bond was forfeit at this site. <br />HYDROLOGIC BALANCE: All ponds appear to be full of water, however, none were discharging. <br />Pond 15-P1 is very close to being silted in and still requires cleaning. The south-east portion of <br />the mine has two significant erosional features that require maintenance and sound stabilization <br />methods applied if the mine is to considered for reduced inspection frequency. <br />ROAD :All roads appear to remain in the same condition as was noted in the last inspection. <br />The washed out portion of the southern access road may last through spring but will require <br />major stabilization if the road is to remain. <br />
