(Page 2)
MINE ID # OR PROSPECTING ID #: ~-~nm_nv~
INSPECTION DATE: (lrtnhar 15,2nn3 INSPECTOR=S INITIALS: -LLLIl1L
OBSERVATIONS
This was apre-operational inspection conducted by Tony Waldron of DMG. The site is located approximately 9
miles north of Weston, Colorado up the Wet Canyon drainage. The application was under review during the
time of the inspection.
The operator contacted the division earlier this year inquiring as to whether his application had been processed
so that he could begin mining. After some internal review it was determined that no application had been
received for his site. Mr. Browning then inquired as to whether or not he could begin mining prior to receiving a
permit. The office informed him that he could not operate a commercial operation without a permit but if he
was using the material on his own property he could mine material for that use. Mr. Browning indicated that
he understood and proceeded to contact another consultant to continue the process of applying for a new
permit.
The target of this operation is an alluvial or glacial gravel deposit along the slope on the west side of the valley.
The operator had begun opening up the site but was using the material for his own uses until he receives his
permit. At that point he may begin selling the road base product commercially. The pit will basically move to
the west and into the valley slope eventually leaving a 3H:1 V slope along the west boundary which is roughly
along the ridge line. There appears to be ample topsoil available for reclamation which will be
rangeland/wildlife habitat. The site is presently vegetated by an open ponderosa pine forest with a decent
under story of native grasses such as blue grama, bluestem, and western wheatgrass. The site is suitable for a
small gravel operation and the application was approved shortly after the site visit.
This concluded the inspection.
I & E Contact Address
NAME: Michael Brownina
OPERATOR: Michael8rawning
STREET: 16503 CR 31.9.
