(Page 2)
MINE ID # OR PROSPECTING ID # M-1983-148
INSPECTION DATE 9-12-2002
INSPECTOR'S INITIALS SSS
This inspection was conducted at the operator's request to determine what regrading needed to be accomplished on the pit
outslopes around the north half of the pit.
Several thousand yards of material has been imported to the north half of the pit to level the floor and improve the rooting zone
for future rangeland/pasture revegetation. The material is spread to a depth varying from one to three feet. The operator
indicated that this material was leftover from past ditch construction on another of the landowner's properties. The landowner
wanted this material removed from the ditch bank to facilitate more efficient irrigation of that property. DMG has not yet
received a notice of importation of fill as required by Rule 3.1.5(9). The operator will need to submit this notice as required.
This material should provide a much improved growth medium in terms of soil structure and fertility for the north half of this
mine site.
Piles of material that were scattered across this portion of the site were apparently moved or spread out prior to placement
of the imported material.
Portions of the pit outslope on the west side have had material pushed over the edge, creating an overly steep and rocky
section just below the crest. These areas located on the west slope directly across from the pit entrance and approximately
150 yards north of that location will need to be pulled back to a 3H:1V grade prior to topsoil application and revegetation.
DMG highly recommends that reclamation of this north portion of the site be completed as soon as possible to minimize weed
infestation across this large, freshly disturbed surface.
Responses to this inspection report should be directed to Steve Shuey at the Division of Minerals and Geology, Grand Junction
Field Office, 101 South 3rd Street, Room 301, Grand Junction, Colorado 81501, phone number 970-243-6368.
NAME
OPERATOR
STREET
CITY/STATE/ZIP
cc:
^ CE
^ BL
^ FS
^ HW
^ HMWMD (CH)
^ SE
^ WQCD (CH)
^ OTHER
