Using an abney level, DMG personnel took measurements of the
slopes approximately every 50 to 60 feet, for a total of 7 measurements, as follows:
16°, 10°, 16 °, 14.5 °, 15°, 14 °, 7°. All of these measurements result in a grade
shallower than 3H:1V, which is that required by the permit and Construction Materials
Regulations. Under the surface of the water, the grade is even shallower, possibly
SH:1V.
The western slopes of the pond are overgrown with yellow clover, orchard grass,
(oxtail barley, cheat grass, and tamarisk. Rushes and cattails have invaded the
shallower slopes along the southern edges, along with immature cottonwoods. The cover
along northern edges appears to be between 508 to 758 of the natural cover to the
west of the pond, with the cover along the southern half varying between 758 to 1008
of the natural cover.
A small seep seems to have sprung up about 50' from the southern corner, although
it was not actively running at the time of the inspection. Whether the seep is due
to an upwelling of groundwater or runoff from above is not clear.
At this time, DMG is satisfied with all of the re-grading along the western slopes
of the western-most pond on this site. Seeding along the north-western edge would
be recommended prior to the release of this area from reclamation responsibility.
However, no further grading is required at this time.
I & E Contact Address
NAME: Robert Siegrist
OPERATOR: See above
STREET: R75 W. 64'" Ave..
CITY/STATE/ZIP: f)enver.
