III, Comments - Compliance
Below are comments on the inspection. The comments include discussion of
observations made during the inspection. Comments also describe any
enforcement actions taken during the inspection and the facts or evidence
supporting the enforcement action.
On May 22, 1991 a partial inspection was conducted at the
Roadside and Cameo Mine. Present at the inspection was Larry
Reschke. The weather was cloudy and a thundershower was passing
over.
Observations:
During this inspection the revegetation test plots were walked.
This area has a heavy infestation of Whitetop (Cardaria spp.).
Parts of this area had been sprayed in the past few weeks with 2-
4-D. In west facing exposed areas the Whitetop appeared to ~e
suffering from drought stress and may not be successful in
seeding out. In other sheltered and wetter areas the weed seemed
to be flowering profusely. In this area the Whitetop showed some
epinastic curling of the upper flowering portion of the plant
caused by the herbicide.
