III IIIIIIIIIIIII III ~~
STATE OF COLOIV~v
Roy Romer, Gove
DEPARTMENT OF NATURAL RESOURCES
MINED LAND RECLAMATION DIVISION
FRED R. BANTA, Director
October 24, 1989
Ms. Kay James
Walden Coal Company
P.O. Box 229
Boulder, Colorado 80306
SUBJECT: Transmittal of Inspection Report
Dear Ms. James:
I have enclosed the report written following my inspection of the Bourg Mine.
As it turned out, I didn't make it to the mine until 4:30 p. m., as the OSM
inspection I conducted earlier in the day lasted longer than expected. It
was probably just as well that we didn't try to get together. As noted in
the report, the main gate was open. I closed it but did not lock it, assuming
that there might be hunters in areas beyond the mine permit area.
Please send the Annual Hydrology Report and Vegetation Monitoring Study to the
Jackson County Clerk to complete your records. I will check to see that it is
there during my November inspections of the area.
Sincerely,
~ ~~ ~ fit.
'J `~
Catherine W.
