I am assuming that you aze referring to the area that has been
flagged to indicate the location of the cultural sites. Am I correct in this
assumption? You also state that "evidence suggests that rubber tired backhoe
was utilized for the excavations. Excavation trenches appeared to have been
approximately 18" wide and 3' long." Are you stating that these, or some of
these excavation trenches are within the flagged area?
I have walked this land many times and I have found more than five test
trenches. The trenches I have located are approximately ten (10) feet long and
three (3) feet wide. Some of these trenches had been left open and they
measured nine (9) feet deep. I have photographs of the open trenches that I
would be happy to shaze with you. They were filled in after I notified BLM that
I had discovered open trenches. You also made no mention of the fact that a
. :~ -;
. ;.
~,-.~]F%r=R?~~se.c::. -~-~-..~dd~a+-eae~Yl~"*-'`%.M^~xisdt~~- ;~r~.s".~ ~°e. ~: _:ei"'_..5:'.k~~".~:...~`"'_ b~ : :: -+~e+.'s^3dYm~+,C ~ '~
bFw
