(Page 2)
MINE ID # OR PROSPECTING ID #: nn-~nnn-nas
INSPECTION DATE: 9-~7-nt
OBSERVATIONS
INSPECTOR'S INITIALS: ~_
Completed a partial inspection of this site as part of a Mined Land Reclamation Board directive to inspect every mine in the
state at least once every four years.
This is a 9.5 acre Limited Impact permit located about 5.5 miles north of highway 96 on county road 78 (west of Towner).
The permit was issued in 2000 so this is the first inspection for this site.
Observed a mine ID sign at the entrance of the permit area. Located the SE and SW corners of the permit boundary. Could
not locate the NE and NW corners. The operator will be required to relocate or re-mark the two north 6ourtdary markers by
the corrective action due date on page 3 of this report.
Mining is progressing from south to north per the approved mining plan. Material is excavated and stockpiled then removed
as needed.
Topsoil has been stockpiled on the south side of the permit area. The material is not too well vegetated (mostly Russian
thistle) but it is stable. If the topsoil is not going to be replaced in the disturbed area within the next growing season it
should be seeded with at least one of the approved grass species. Seeding can take place this fall or next spring. This will be
noted as a problem on page 3 of this report. The corrective action due date will be set for July 1, 2002.
Did not observe any other problems at this site.
~.~ ~~ ~
~ooo i~~o 0000 oc~gq s99q
I & E Contact Address lames Stevens
cr ^ CE
NAME: Richard McDaniel ^ BL
^ FS
OPERATOR: Kiowa County ^ HW
^ HMWMD (CH)
STREET: 1305 Goff Street ^ SE
CITY(STATE(ZIP: EadS, CO 81036 ^ WQCD (CH)
^ OTHER
