MINE ID # OR PROSPECTING ID #: M-~Q9n-~~~ <br />INSPEC71ON DATE: Septemhe~ 5.2002 INSPECTOR=S INITIALS: nR9 <br />OBSERVATIONS <br />This was a routine inspection conducted by David Bird of DRMS. Owner and operator Ricky Mitchell was <br />present during the inspection. The site is located in Adams County, about % mile east of Bennett, on land <br />owned by Mr. Mitchell. The site is immediately adjacent to the Mitchell Pit site (M-1987-023), also owned and <br />operated by Ricky Mitchell, which was last inspected 28 April 2004. <br />Material mined at this site consists of alluvial sand and gravel of the Kiowa Creek drainage. Kiowa Creek at this <br />location is ephemeral and was dry at the time of the inspection. The product is excavated by front loader and <br />hauled by truck off site. No processing of material is done on site -only excavation. The only equipment on site <br />was a front loader and a Bobcat. There has been minimal disturbance on this permitted site since the annual <br />report was filed in February because of slow market conditions, according to operator. No standing water was <br />visible anywhere on site, so excavation is thus for apparently maintaining above the water table. <br />The entrance to the site is marked with a sign indicating private property, but is not compliant with DRMS Rule <br />3.1.12. Otherwise, no problems were observed. There was no evidence of geotechnical instability observed on <br />mine highwalls or slopes, and no evidence of erosional damage or instability.
