(Page 2)
MINE: ZD # OR PROSPECTING ID # M-99-011
INSPECTION DATE 12/10/99 INSPECTOR'S INITIALS AJW
OBSERVATIONS
This was a normal monitoring inspection conducted by Tony Waldron of DMG. The site is located
approximately 2 miles southeast of Limon, Colorado, adjacent to and along the south side of
Big Sandy Creek.
This pit was permitted as a 111 construction materials pit to supply aggregate for the I-70
re-surfacing project. There was an identification sign properly posted at the mine entrance
and the permit boundaries were clearly marked. The site consists of a fairly sizable mining
area where the material is extracted and sent to a screen and wash plant via conveyor. This
plant is set up near a large settling basin where fines and reject material are captured.
The useable material is then stockpiled on the east side of the pond and plant in the
finished product stockpile. The operation was inactive during this inspection as concrete
paving has ceased for the winter. However, the operation is expected to start up again in
the spring. The west side of the area appears to have been regraded and top soiled. It was
not clear whether or not it had been seeded at the time of this inspection. The remaining
topsoil stockpiles appear to be sufficient to reclaim the remaining disturbed area. No
problems were identified and this concluded the inspection.
I & E Contact Addre
NAME Mr. Carl Roberts
OPERATOR Lyman-Richey Corporation
STREET 4521 Howard Blvd, P O Box 964
CITY/STATE/ZIP Columbus.
