ITEC: Envvonmental has requested that the Division of Minerals of Geology (DMG) send the Boulder County Land Use Department a
letter regazding the permit for Gold Hill Mill, #M-94-117. They stated that you wish to confirm pre-existmg commitments to
construct a [ailings pond in the place and of the size currently under construction, amd that the size of the site was approved at 8.4
acres. Despi[e difficulty in finding our initial 1995 approval letter for these conditions, several different documenss in the file and the
computer records confirm that these were agreed to when the permit was gramted. All maps from as far back as October 1995 show a
tailings pond to be constructed in the place and of the size curtently underway. The recent Technical Revision merely addressed the
desie,n of the tailings dam and pond modifications; it did not add these activities to the permit.
