(Page 2)
MINE ID# OR PROSPECTING ID# M-1998-003 INSPECTION DATE 04/13/04 INSPECTOR'S INITIALS GRS
This was a routine monitoring inspection of the Raftopoulis Pit No. 1, conducted by Gregg
Squire of the Division of Minerals and Geology. Marvin Moore, consultant for Moffat County ,
was also present. The pit is located near the Little Snake River, northwest of Great Divide,
Colorado. Moffat County has recently implemented a storm water runoff control program at its
pits. Through the use of a combination of perimeter ditches and berms, diversion structures
and sediment traps, and in-pit ponding areas, the vast majority of surface run off generated
on-site is contained within each pit. The majority of this pit has been stripped of topsoil,
which has been stockpiled in berms along the east and south boundaries of the permit area.
Mining activity is currently focused in the south west portion of the pit. Although there
was no mining taking place at the time of the inspection, there is about 40,000 yars of
crushed rock stockpiled on the site.
The Permit ID sign was posted at the entrance to the site. The permit boundaries were
located, no disturbance was observed outside the permit boundaries. The site is stable and
no problems were noted during the inspection.
I & S Contact Address
NAME
OPERATOR
STREET
CITY/STATE/ZIP
Mr. Marvin Moore
Moffat County
j' CE
j' BL
r xw
j' FS
j' HMWMD (CH)
j' SE
r wQCn (cx
Cc: Carl Mount; DMG Via e-mail
