In addition to the monthly inspection, the purpose of the site visit was to
familiarize the new minerals program supervisor David Berry with site. In addition to
David Berry, Tony Waldron of the Division, Gary Goodrich, Tim Comer, Mark vanoni and
Peter O'Conner of CC&V were present.
Prior to the arrival of DRMS SUPERS, WATER SAMPLES FROM THE UNDER DRAIN AND LOW VOLUME
SOLUTION COLLECTION PIPES FOR Phases IIj III & IV WERE COLLECTED, for wad cyanide
analysis WITH Mark Vanoni collecting split samples. Samples were placed in a cooler
with ice and delivered to the CDOH&E lab on 11/2/07 at B:OOa.m
Inspected the Phase I,II,III&IV leach pad high and low volume solution collection
transducers and recorded the following readings.
Phase I High volume transducer readout meter for # 1 was still not functioning. # 2 was
at 37.9 & #3 was at 40.9. Low volume transducer # 1 was at and # 2 was at 40.9. The
piezometer for the pond was measured at 39.1.
Phase II & III High Volume solution collection transducer # 4 was recorded at 30.3' #5
was at 33.5 # 6 was at 29.8. Low Volume transducer #1 was at .31 and # 2 was
at.40.Piezometer for the pond was recorded at 30.8.
Phase IV High volume solution collection transducer # 7 was recorded at 28.4 # 8 was at
26.3 # 9 was at 27.5 and #10 was at 28.5. Low volume transducer # 1 was recorded at
20.4 and # 2 was at 11.4 inches of hydrostatic head.
Inspected the External pond, it was holding some water. Low volume transducer # 1 was
recorded at 13.5 and # 2 was at 12.0 .
With Dave Berry and Tony Waldron present CC&V gave a brief presentation of the current
and future mining plans for the operation. After the brief presentation, drove to the
East Cresson area where the backfilling of the pit was observed. Once the last of the
mining is completed in the area it will be backfilled and reclaimed as approved in the
reclamation plan.
Continued the tour to the American Eagle site where Gary explained the over view of the
current operation. The main Cresson pit was actively being mined a't the time of the ~
over view description. ~
Continued the inspection to the Iron Clad Globe Hill area. The Victory pad ponds have
been drained, liner folded and buried from the south side ponds and removed from the
North pond. The north side pond will be used as a storm water detention pond conveying
drainage from the road and associated areas .The new Engineering building is almost
completed and no problem noted.
Contiriued the TOUT t0 the Cameron PAD (M-1991-134). THE SITE USED TO BE AN OLD LEACH
PAD that was revoked but later PERMITTED BY CC&V, as a reclamation only permit with a
token bond of $7,534.OO.The spent ore is processed as an aggregate to be utilized on
and off site. Most of the spent ore has been processed and once CC&V is completed with
their portion, the area will be turned over to DBMS AML, program, so they can complete
the reclamation.
Continued the tour to the Valley leach facility and process plant area where Mr.
Goodrich gave a brief description of the over all workings of the Valley leach faculty.
