III. Comments/Compliance
This was an aerial inspection conducted by Jim Burnell of CDMG from photos taken on the
afternoon of Tuesday, May 6, 2003. The mine site was quiet and deserted. Weather was
sunny. The ground was clear.
There was no sign of instability or erosion on the west side of Hubbard Creek. The former
stockpile area was very green. That area is stable also.
The benches -both upper and lower -were stable. There was no indication of instability on
either bench. the sparsely-vegetated areas to the south ends of both benches stands our
very clearly on the air photos. The small seep at the north end of the lower bench was
actively seeping.
Pond 5 contained some muddy water. The ditches, however, contained no water. Hubbard
Creek was flowing and the water was clear both above and below the Blue Ribbon Mine
area.
The upper road to the upper bench showed no sign of instability or erosion. The lower road
also appeared to be stable.
Pond 3 and 4 were both empty. The embankments appeared stable in the air photos.
The lower access road showed no signs of instability or erosion.
The access road (Hubbard Canyon road) appears in good condition.
