(Page 2) <br />MINE ID # OR PROSPECTING ID # M-87-166 <br />INSPECTION DATE 2/4/99 INSPECTOR'S INITIALS ESC <br />OBSERVATIONS <br />This was a normal inspection of the Westhoff Farms conducted by Erica Crosby of the Colorado <br />Division of Minerals and Geology. The operator was not present, during the inspection. <br />weather conditions on site were cool and clear. Ground conditions were dry. <br />The Westhoff Farms Pit is located roughly 10 miles southwest of Wiggens adjacent to County <br />Road #3. The site is permitted to affect 5 acres and a bond is posted in the amount of <br />$3,000.00. Amine identification sign was posted, but boundary markers could not be located. <br />The operator will need to post permit boundary markers as required by Rule 3.1.12. See page <br />3 for further detail. <br />The disturbed area is roughly 500 feet wide and the highwall ranges in size from 5 feet high <br />to 12 feet high. The pit is mined for borrow material to be hauled off site. The borrow <br />material consist of a bed of oyster shells and clay roughly 5 feet to 7 feet thick. Mining <br />is taking place into a side of a hill heading towards the west.
