• (Page 21 <br /> <br />MINE ID ~ OR PROSPECTING ID q M-77-022 <br />INSPECTION DATE 11-12-98 INSPECTOR'S INITIALS SSS <br />OBSERVATIONS <br />This was a partial inspection of the Pit No. 3 conducted as part of the Division's routine monitoring program and to survey <br />current site conditions in preparation for recalculating the reclamation cost estimate. <br />Stage 3 was mined this year to provide adequate gravel for the operator's needs. The river did not produce enough gravel <br />this past spring to fill in the instream excavation area. The short runoff season with less than average flow rates appear <br />to be the cause of the lack of gravel recharge. All instream pit operators in this area remarked on the poor gravel recharge <br />this year. <br />The Stage 3 excavation has been completed and the pit slopes graded as required. The operator indicates this pit is <br />approximately 15 feet deep below the waterline.
