(Page 2)
MINE ID # OR PROSPECTING ID #: ~-~9~8-~n~
INSPECTION DATE: na/~L/ne INSPECTOR=S INITIALS: Kap
OBSERVATIONS
1. This inspection was conducted as part of the Division of Minerals and Geology's 4-year monitoring program.
Present at the inspection were Kate Pickford, DMG, and Joe Intermill, Colorado Division of Highways. Weather
at the time of the inspection was cloudy, windy, and approximately 40 degrees.
2. The site consists of a pit that has been partially excavated and numerous material stockpiles on the ground
outside of the pit. The state uses material from the site periodically for road maintenance, and expects to
continue extracting materials from the site. The pit slopes at the site will require some grading from their
current condition for reclamation. The reclamation plan indicates that slopes at the site will be not steeper than
2:1, whereas some of the slopes of the pit are currently approximately 1.5:1.
3. Topsoil is stockpiled at the site for future use during reclamation. The only vegetation on the topsoil
stockpile are a few weeds, none of which appear to be noxious weeds. Mr. Intermill indicated that if the
stockpile was seeded, nothing would likely grow as a result, due to the limited amounts of precipitation at the
site. It does not appear that vegetation would readily grow on the stockpile in that much of the area is exposed
soil with no grasses or weeds growing on it.
4. All activities and conditions at the site appear to be in compliance with the approved permit.
I & E Contact Address
NAME: Mr. Eric Prieve
OPERATOR: Colorado Division of Hiahwavs
STREET: 4340 E.
