COMMENTS -COMPLIANCE <br />Below are comments on the inspection The comments include discussion of observations made <br />during the inspection Comments also describe any enforcement actions taken during the inspection <br />and the facts or evidence supporting the enforcement action <br />This was a partial inspection conducted by Kent Gorham of the Division of Minerals and <br />Geology This processing and loadout site has been inactive since June 2001 after the <br />closure of the Lorencito Mine (#C-96-084). Ground conditions on this day good. The area <br />has received significant and badly needed ram in the last few weeks. The weather on this <br />day was hot with thunderstorms forecast for the afternoon and evening <br />Hydrologic Balance <br />Even after nearly three inches of rain in the last 10 days. the two containments at the West <br />Mane remain effectively dry, indicating good moisture infiltration from the storms The <br />operator has relocated ditch D15 into ditch D22, rather than having it enter ditch D32. This <br />should not pose any problems since the flow eventually entered D22 further downstream <br />anyway <br />Su ort Facilities <br />The operator is in the process of removing old dicer tables from the prep plant. Steel and <br />structural debris is temporarily stockpiled south of the prep plant- No other changes were <br />noted in the facility area. <br />Revegetation <br />Since the last inspection, the operator has seeded and mulched areas of the West Mine that <br />have been recently regraded and/or topsoiled.
