(Page 2)
MINE ID # OR PROSPECTING ID #: M_1g66-ina
INSPECTION DATE: OS/»~na INSPECTOR=S INITIALS: TAS
1. A site inspection was made of the Montgomery Pit. The site is located 1.50 miles east of the Town of Eagle. Present
during the inspection was Mr. Jason eurkey.
2. The Montgomery Pit is permitted for a total of 46.08 acres. The mining plan specifies conventional excavation methods
into an existing hillside. There will be no groundwater exposed or encountered during mining. The post-mining land use
is commercial, pending local approvals of a Special Use or Conditional Use Permit. Otherwise, the site will be reclaimed to
rangeland. The reclamation plan specifies that disturbed slopes will be backfilled and re-graded to no steeper than a
configuration of 2:1, topsoiled, and reseeded. The operator has posted a financial warranty of $83,830 in the form of a
Corporate Surety.
3. Signs and markers were posted as required by Rule 3.1.12
4. This inspector noted the following observations:
mining is nearly complete at the Montgomery Pit, except for future excavation in the east end of the permit area
approximately 80% of the existing pit wall has been backfilled and graded to reclamation contours
the pit is currently being used for storage and processing of recycled concrete
there is approximately 200 linear feet of pit wall at 0.5:1 slope, at 20' high; to be backfilled & greded to a 2:1 slope
there is approximately 3 acre feet of finish grading needed in the pit area
topsoil has been salvaged and stockpiled at the top of the existing pit wall
there are minor infestations of musk thistle within the permit area, the operator is actively controlling via an approved
noxious weed control plan
5. This inspector finds that the $83,830 financial warranty is adequate to complete reclamation of the existing and
planned disturbance.
I & E Contact Address
NAME: Mr. Jason Burkev
OPERATOR: B & B Excavating
STREET: PO Box 1729
CITY/STATE/ZIP: Fdwardq,CO 61632-1779
cc: Carl Mount, DMG (via E-Mail)
Mr. Greg Lewicki
Greg Lewicki & Associates
11541 Warrington Court
Parker, CO USA 80138
