III. COMMENTS -COMPLIANCE <br />Below are comments on the inspection. The comments include discussion of observations <br />made during the inspection. Comments also describe any enforcement actions taken during <br />the inspection and the facts or evidence supporting the enforcement action. <br />This was a partial inspection conducted by Joe Dudash of the Colorado DMG. No one <br />represented the operator. There was no activity onsite. <br />HydroloQy <br />The sedimentation pond was dry. The gated primary valve was closed. Pond spillways <br />were functional. Pond inslopes and outslopes were stable. <br />The mine water discharge pond was dischazging dark orange colored water at about 20 <br />gpm. The water level was about 6 inches below the top horizontal pipe. Pond inslopes <br />and outslopes were stable, as was the pond embankment. <br />The east seep area was dry. The west seep was flowing with a temperature of 81 degrees <br />Fahrenheit. The temperature of the water flowing out of the pipe next to the river was 64 <br />degrees Fahrenheit. The temperature of the river water, just under thebridge, was 55 <br />degrees Fahrenheit. <br />1\oad5 <br />The cable was across the road entrance to the mine site. The mine ID sign was up at the <br />entrance. There was some household debris on the side of the road down from the <br />adjacent house but it did not pose a problem for access.
